About the book
Inner Mountains:
The Healing of a Soul
Inner Mountains: The Healing of a Soul chronicles Virginia’s journey of fracturing and healing. During her mid-twenties, Virginia loses her way and encounters forces both light and dark. She experiences ecstatic bliss followed by relentless and tormenting heart shredding over-stimulation, from which escape seems impossible.
As she fractures, fantastic fragmented and convoluted stories captivate every moment of her existence for some time, depriving her of sleep and igniting a storm of anxiety within. She loses touch with reality and is unable to perform basic tasks.
Virginia Cook author shares what she thinks, sees, hears and feels as she fractures. She describes the unbearable grating against a physical reality that she must endure to put herself back together.
Virginia seeks healing for almost twenty years, using everything she can think of, including energy healing, gratitude journaling, natural medicine, psycho-therapy, spiritual exploration, art, poetry, affirmations and meditation. While struggling to manage ongoing life challenges, which include starting a family, international moves, and poor health, she heals slowly but is still challenged by much. Then, she begins to pray and is led into a close relationship with God and the healing of her tormented soul, finally finding lasting inner peace. In sharing her challenges and healing experience with others, Virginia wishes to bring hope and faith that things can be different. Even those feeling broken beyond repair can find inner peace and heal.
